G'day,

There's a GMC up for auction on eBay (300507221228) and I noticed it has a
neat pull out kitchen sink faucet, anybody know who makes it?

Thanks,
Rob M.

Steve,

Thanks, I did a search for "pull out Kitchen faucet" on the Lowes website
and found they have 121 of them! They range in price from $88 to $1261. YES
ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY ONE DOLLARS for a Kitchen faucet! I think
I'll be down at the other end of the scale! ;-)

Looks like chrome plated plastic and could be a Delta. I asked Mark where
he purchased it and will let you know when he replies.

They're a great thing, but you need to have the space for the hose and its weight to hang below.

I love the one in the kitchen at home and considered putting one in the Murray. I checked and there is lots of unused space under the facet for the hose to hang.

I ended up going the cheap route and just fixing the leaky valves instead.

We are on our second one in the GMC. What Bruce said is right. Must have room underneath for hose and wieght. Got the first one from Lowes. It failed in less than a year. They would not do anything and wanted another 100. bux for one like it. Found identical one for 26 bux on line. It has lasted 2 years and no problems.

Rob,
I think I paid less than $130 for it and I installed it without the base
plate. Really looks sharp.

G'day,

Appreciate the responses especially the note about needing space under the
sink for the hose and weight. I'm having a cabinet maker build two slide out
shelves under the sink as I'm tired of crawling around on the floor when I
need to get something out of the back! I'll have him put a slot in the top
one so the hose and weight can hang down.

Thanks,
Rob M.

Rob,

Before you make too many accommodations for the stock hose & weight,
consider the size of the RV sink -- you may be able to move the weight
up closer to the top & not need as much cabinet space below.

Ken,

Good point!

I'm having the top shelf lowered so we can stand our Keurig single cup
coffee maker up when we put it away instead of having to lay it down.

IIRC it is 11 1/2" tall and that may give me enough length to be able to
install the pull out faucet without having to slot the shelf.

Keep in mind the higher the weight, the shorter the amount of hose you have available to pull out. Question is, How much do you need?

You might be able to rig up some type of channel out of 2 or 3 inch pcv pipe. maybe cut out 1/4 of the side.... maybe at 45 degrees... Just thinking

Rob,
Here is a photo of what I did. I bought the faucet at Costco but it is not unique. I bought the sink at HD - it mounts as undermount or topmount and the faucet mounts far enough back on the counter that the hose has plenty of room to go behind the shelf.

I really like the counter top extension. I'll need to steal that idea.

Might use some kind of clear plastic for the top. that way it doesn't block the light. Might not as it'll be in a 23 foot with the sink by the door... Still thinking....

Start at this pic and the next few pics:

When I finished the remodel we took a long trip with the extension top stored on the sofa, next to the sink cabinet - was easy to pull out and put on the extension support from there. Probably a few places to store it in any coach?

As a recommendation, make the extension hinged so you can flip it up for
storage and it will also become a splash guard. We had a splash guard that
I removed after a few years and I never realized how necessary if was until
then.
