Well the year has gone by fast, I have had many successes with work on the GMC and found some strange things as well.
as always I am grateful to those who have offered so much help and information and thanks to the GMC forum and those who work so hard to keep it going for us.

I have not frequented the board recently because of recent issues and because the GMC is currently at rest in the cold weather. So I take this opportunity to thank you all.

May you all have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Very Happy

One of the strange issues has been starting of the engine.
I have found that when the ambiant temps get down to 32F, if the engine is allowed to get cold, sit of over a couple months without starting, IT WON'T EVEN TURN OVER!

This is with a new battery.. If I start the engine and warm it up, say every couple weeks, it will turn over even when it is 20F outside. I know this is contrary to the storage rules but if I need her to be ready to roll, this seems the fix and so this will be the way I keep her stored from now on.

The other was the find that the heater box mixing flap was not moving, at all. Gatsbys' CRUISER never had cold or hot, just ambient, the flap was stuck in the mid range, the heat control lever had no affect. ( the cable was bad ) One cold day I was trying some things, manually moved the mix flap to the heat side, and was able to get 120F air from the vent, at a so so air flow but that's the GMC. But that change has been a big improvement. Something for others to look for.

I did finally get a bicycle computer installed in the GMC. I wanted the additional MPH meter but it also has a timer, clock, count down timer ( for the gas refill ) and some other things that I thought helpful. The easiest place to install the sensor was at the rear wheel. Not so much a long story but works great, or as said today " SICK ".... lol ( Rolls Eyes Rolling Eyes )

Well have to run, ( move on ), Laughing

Best Wishes, On to a new year...... slc Smile
