Well as promised, here is the thread with the new wheels on the coach, I got them on a couple nights ago, and man are they ever a huge improvement!
These are KMC XD775 "Rockstar" wheels, not what you normally might find on a GMC since most like a polished alloy wheel like Alcoa or Eagles, but being that I perfer a matte black finish, which will be easier to mantain and will look great with the new paint scheme when I eventually get my rig painted. Also the price ($148.39 each Shipped) was pretty tough to beat!
These wheels are Lug centered, and I was concerned about that because of what I read here, but after mounting them, the holes in the wheels them selves seem very close to the 9/16 stud diameter so there is very little play if any when they are on, and the milimeter or so that is left is wringed out by snugging up the 60* seat lugnuts with the wheel still off the ground, as you will see in the pics the wheels are quite beefy, and I have Dunlop Radial Rover RVxt rubber affixed to the wheels, which go well with it.

Ive only had a chance to drive these for a few miles, but the ride is remarkably better than with the old tires, it seems to be more floaty even with 70# of air in the tires. The rubber is pretty sticky so this should be good in wet conditions. all in all this looks to be a good wheel/tire combo!

Shan, my 2 cents worth. I like the all black look, the stars are not my
personal favorite, but from a distance they look OK. I've got GMC 1 Ton
Steel 16" powder coated grey with chrome center hub covers & beauty rings.
Don't see too many like mine either. Do what you like. It's America after
all.

Gene, it looks like he adapted rockstar caps to fit the steel wheels, could be easily done if you drilled and tapped it for a 8mm bolt. im sure KMC will sell the caps, they are ABS and probably not that expensive to get replacements. they also have a polished version of that wheel, but personally I find the black ones to look the best, and even if you leave the caps offthey look good with the chrome lugnuts contrasts well against the matt finish. In any case they are a good price, and so far ride is way better than the old steel wheels...
PS Gene, my GF just saw that camo paint scheme on that GMC, I think I am in trouble now lol

Hi, Shan.
Could you please provide the exact part number for these
wheels and the source from which you bought them?
Pretty slick and somebody has said after you posted that
they are also available in other finishes.
"The Money Pit" came with steel 16" wheels (thankfully)
but better looking wheels are a future project after all
the safety and other mechanical problems are solved.

Here is the link to the chrome version, those are onsale now too, you will want the ones with the dually front offset and 8x6.5 bolt pattern. they are about $45 more then the mate black version.

I'm kinda annoyed now that I see the page since the wheels are on sale for $8 cheaper each than I paid and now come with free lugnuts and valve stems, which I had to buy. Shippingto the lower 48 is also free.
Will break these in on my trip up north this year....
KMC whels are drop shipped from a warehouse about 20 miles from me in here in LA. but 4 wheel online is in Florida. this was great for me since it helped me dodge CA's 9.75% sales tax, I ordered the wheels on sunday, and had them by tuesday a mere 48 hours later. granted that had to do with my close proximity to the distributor.

Make sure you check the torque on those wheels after a hundred or so miles. It is important to do that with alloy wheels and especially so on lug centered wheels. I run 60 degree, tapered lug nut wheels on the front of my coach < http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=5521> and, after the initial re-torquing, I haven't had any problem with them loosening up.

Carl, that is a super duper reminder. I know all about losing a new aluminum wheel 25 miles after install.

yeppers KMC also recommended the same retorquing schedule, so im keeping the wrench handy for a couple more miles...

So Duce what WERE you thinking, before the GF saw the camo, for a GMC paint scheme to match the wheels. You are daring to be different and I would be interested in hearing what you have in mind.

I was thinking of a black and gun metal twotone paint scheme, a friend even suggested a satin black which seems to be all the rage lately. But the GF was like "oh my god! The cammo is cool!" but I think I won her back to a variation of black/gun metal. Hehe we will see! I got lucky with the KMC wheels they look great, and despite being imported they appear to be well made the weight rating is 3400 pounds per wheel and even with a super heavy coach you won't get close to that load per wheel. The price can't be beat and they look nice. Its probably the cheapest way to get into 16" alloy wheels.and they actually look nice!

Alcoa's are nice, I like'em, but they are also very expensive! once you add the cost of the wheel, center cap, and lugnuts your looking at almost 2k without any tires on them! and if you live in CA and buy the wheels from Jim, you will have to pay the obscene sales tax of almost 10% For me the choice to go with KMC was not just because I liked the look as I did, but when all the dust settled for 7 wheels, tires, lugnuts, and mount and balance was about $2,150 so economics obviously also played a big part of my discision. Also since I ordered from a Florida based company, though the wheels drop shipped from a warehouse in Carson, CA (los Angeles area) I got to flip Sacramento the bird! All around I am so far quite satisfied, the only thing I have noticed is that the increased thickness of the wheel seems to have altered the steering geometry somewhat, so I will need an alignment, which is a good idea anywaysince who knows when it was done last if at all...

Absolutely Awesome!  I looked into these wheels before buying the Alcoas but talked myself out of them because I tought the ftiment would be off... looks like I was WRONG! hmmm Alcoas for sale possibly.... haha probably not... the classic look goes well with my coach.
