It'll have to be a mighty slim A/C unit (maybe 4 or 5 inches high); you
might consider letting all the air out of the coach tires to get the coach
down to 12' total height on that 3 axle trailer.

It's not that big a deal to R&R the a/c and/or pod. And if that's still not
enough, you could use 6x6 wood shoring under the frame and remove the
wheels. You CAN get below legal height.

But first, try to find THE coach close to home (& running).

I agree with this. Just the cost of shipping a basket case GMC any distance would buy you a much better coach. I am sorry to say it, but in this market, some GMC's are not worth it even if it is given to you.

The only reason to buy a basket case is if you where planning on a total "remove the frame and start over" rebuild. (That is my plan for my #3 coach... I start in a year or so.) THEN there isn't any reason to pay for more than you need... But being able to drive it home would cut down on the retrieval costs.
