can anyone tell me what interstate10 from the interstate 55 junction going west toward texas is like? will be foing to houston in a couple of weeks and can go several ways but interstate 10 would be the quickest if it doesn't tear my stuff up, I know I20 used to be terrible, don't know about I10.

Robert, I just made that trip last week from New Orleans to Houston with no noticable problems. Of course that long bridge over the Atchafalya is a nice, rhythmic series of humps, traffic flow was 65 - 75. I20 in TX has been redone and is OK, I went out on it to Vicksburg.

Forgot to add the outer, beltway loop on the Northeast side of Houston from I10 to I45 is under construction. Travel is on the service road with many lights, but the traffic moved along about as well as a typical Houston rush hour.

Don't plan on 65-75 mph across the 18 mile bridge. Every time I've crossed
it, the 55 mph (IIRC) speed limit was being enforced. My daughter called me
while crossing it a year or so ago. During the conversation I warned her, a
usually cautious driver, to watch her speed. We'd hardly hung up when she
was stopped.

Major construction on I-10 in downtown Houston. Real problem on weekends when they close the freeway completely.
