Hey guys,

I need some assistance from you boat and aircraft guys.

I need a 16mm 1.5mm thread, grade 8 Stainless or brass, castle nut.

I have checked Mc Master Carr, and they have only zinc coated (that won't do). If I can't find one I'll have to have the machine shop make one, and the price goes to $60.00 + for one nut. Someone lost the prop shaft nut off my sail boat and put a teflon nut on in place. No good.

TIA

Gary,

Try this person. I buy quite a bit of stainless from him. I am laid up
at home after falling off a ladder and buggering up my knee on Sunday
and I do nor have his number but here is his email.

He may have it or know where you can get it,

stainlessfasteners@sbcglobal.net

Gary,

The nut does not have to be gr. 8. Bronze (not brass) cannot make gr.8.

Did you try the local propeller shops?

That is a nut the both Benateau and X-yachts use, you might try the nearby dealers.

If you can't find a castle nut, do for a full and a jam nut, that will do as well.

Matt
