I have a norcold 87SEG2 frig. Question is is there a burner adjustment? Im not overly technical, but I found whoever put in the frig did a bad job with it. Long story short I fixed it and it lights in about 4 seconds now. However if my LP gas valve next to the frig is wide open flames will shoot out of the burner compartment.
I slowly reduce the value to lower the amt of LP going to the frig which solves the issue. However is there a adjustment at the burner itself since Im fairly sure when the frigs LP value is open all the way its getting WAY to much LP. When I close the valve about 1/4 turn its burns clean. Im guessing theres a way to adjust the acutal burner (if thats what it is called the part where the flame comes out)

It really sounds like you have a bad LP pressure regulator. Are you having any problems with any of the other propane appliances? Do a pressure test to be sure you have 11" of water pressure maximum on your gas input.
This is a dangerous situation. I have never seen so much gas come out of a burner that "flames will shoot out of the burner compartment". This is not something that is at all normal, nor should it be adjusted with the gas input valve. I have seen dirty burners, or ones with spider webs inside that forced the gas out of the air shutter, but that would not be solved by the reduction of gas via the input valve. There is no burner gas adjustment, only an air adjustment, and that would not solve this issue.
Please don't use it this way until you find the real problem.

I agree. Honestly that was my first guess. My LP tank had a single stage regulator. Someone mentioned to me that it would be better to have a dual stage regulator. I brought it to a RV place that installed the dual stage then this happened.

Thanks for the forum, I brought it in to the rv center. The dual stage reg was bad they installed. I smelled LP on the way back but I just filled the tank. So I hope now there is no leak. Ill go out and check it in a bit...

You make one with a U shaped transparent glass or plastic tube about 15 inches high. Put water in it, and mark the level. With one end attached to your gas line and the other open, turn the gas on. The water should go down 5.5 inches on one side, and up 5.5 on the other, for 11" of water pressure difference.
I know somewhere in the photos there are pictures of this kind of assembly. Maybe someone can point them out.

Keep in mind if you are going to check the gas pressure at the stove burner outlet it will work great with the original GMC stove but if you have one of the later type after market stoves you can't check it there because a lot of them have a separate gas pressure regulator that is set for 11" of water column. You would be cranking on the regulator by the tank and the pressure at the stove will not go past 11". I accidentally did this once till I noticed the little regulator in the stove.
