Found a great deal on oil filters. Just thought I'd share it. They are top rated as well.

Enjoy.

G'day,

Scott thanks for posting this.

General consensus: are these good filters or are they crap like Fram?

Those are great quality filters by the way. They are just as good as M1 filters and close to K&N. Theres been a lot of research for filter comparision, and the Purolators PureOne's are the best value. They have much more filter element area than others in its class.

Scott,
Thanks for the heads up. I was able to get different filters on the same order using the BIG10 code.

FWIW,
I had some problems ordering the filters through the Advanced Auto web site. I needed two different filters and ordered 5 of each. The only way I could get the full discount is by ordering both sets of 5 separately.

The Pure One filter I ordered for the GMC (Olds 455 and Cad 500) was listed as a PL25288 instead of the PL 20033 that I had on my shelf. I figured it was just a superseded number, so I ordered it anyway. When it came in, it was not the 3 3/4" dia can that I was used to seeing but the smaller 3" dia. can. The seal was the right size and spin on threads were the same, but the whole can was significantly smaller. I talked to the manager at my local store and he explained that the auto and filter manufactures were trying to standardize on filter sizes and that the PL20033 was now a discontinued item. I explained that I was using this on a BB Cadillac engine, had a lot of money and time in this motor and did not want to use the smaller filter on my engine. He said he wanted to make it good and volunteered to exchange the PL25288 filters that I had even up for any filter that he had in the store...including the Mobile One filter. So I took him up on it and got 5 new Mobile One filters for $3.00 each....a real deal!!
BTW, the L20033 is still stocked with lots in the warehouse, but the PL20033 is now out of stock.

Larry, you found out the same thing I did. I am sticking with the Wix filter myself.

Larry,

I bought them also but didn't get a chance to pick them up today. I'll head
over to the AA store tomorrow and see if the local manager will do the same.
I'm not interested in the 3" OD filter either!

The 3/4" reduction in diameter means the circumference is reduced from
11.775 to 9.42 which is a 20% reduction. I wonder how many filter folds this
relates to?
