G'day,

It particularly gratifying to me that subsequent to Viet Nam conflict the
men and women in our military forces are honored for their sacrifice and not
derided or spat upon because the conflict in which they fight is not
popular!

Rob, I think America learned a valuable lesson from that era, I hope so anyway. Today I was at the local Veteran's affair. The Vietnam Era Vets were honored along with everyone else. I have noticed over the last 10-15 years that our group is treated with much more respect. I like it. Thanks to everyone who served, no matter which era. Remember those who are now protecting us from a new kind of war also.

I too, have written the "check" made out the the United States of
America
in the amount of "One Life - Payable on Demand".
Mine was not cashed but I try to remember daily those whose were cashed.

As George Patton said:

Sean,

Thanks for bringing this up, it made me think; "hey when was I in 'Nam?" Oh yeah - 1967-68; jeez it was TWICE as long ago as Desert
Storm and I'm more than THREE times the age I was when I was there.

MAN do I feel OLD!

My Dad was in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII and got frozen feet.
He went to a Veteran's Day get together in Lakeland, FL yesterday and told me that there are very few WWII vets still around.
That is probably because he is 89 years old and has outlived most of them.
