After all the years I've disliked Quadrajet air filter gaskets, I finally
did something about it. I've always had trouble keeping the flimsy little
things in place and avoiding damage to them. So after trying several
different variants, I made my own. Using the removable mounting ring from
the Holley throttle body as a template I cut my own from a sheet of 3/16"
thick rubber (hopefully oil resistant). It's thick enough to seal well and
wide enough to retain its shape.

Hi, Ken.

Just finished looking at the URL below.
Regarding the gearing for the 3.21 drive
for the 65/66 Toro, a pinion of 14 and a
ring of 45 comes up with 3.2142857 on my
calculator. 13:42 gives 3.2307692. I'm
pretty confident that is the 45:14 combo.

Thanks, Mac, I'll update my spreadsheet and forward it to Mr.ERF in case he
wants to update the web site.

But I'm confused by "the URL below", which is the one I just posted about
air filter gaskets.

It wasn't Mr.ERF who needed the update -- he only linked to GMCMHPhotos --
I've sent it to bdub.

URL showed the gasket, but also had
what was claimed to be a video but
that was the chart for the ratios
and accompanying gear numbers.

Mac,

OK, I see now. You visited some of the other entries in that "Odds'n'Ends"
album to find the overall gear ratios spreadsheet. I didn't even notice it
was there. And now I've asked bdub to update something I CAN do myself.

And we've confused the innocent bystander, Gene, who only put that link in
the Final Drives section of his web site. I'll probably screw up the link
if I do try to update the spreadsheet. Maybe it's not worth it to tell
people how many gear teeth there are in a 3.21 FD.
