What macerator is commonly being used? Having had
intentions at one time of taking my boat to waters
where overboard discharge would be allowed, I bought
a Jabsco 18590-0000 some years ago. It is a 12 gallons
per minute (GPM) unit. The current draw at 12 VDC
input is stated as 15 A. Would this do the job?
Needless to say, I would not want to have it installed
such that it would be the ONLY means of tank emptying.

Sounds just like the one I have getting ready to install. I haven't used ANY macerator yet.... but I hear it is a good one.

Be sure and have an additional port to empty the tanks. This is your backup plan if the macerator does not empty the tank for some reason. I'm still looking for the reason on mine. P.O. did the "Y" tube, with a 3" drain on the other end of the "Y">
