I have a dilemma. It seems like the dog sitter we have lined up for FischenDog, so we can go to DuQuion, is backing out. We had Fischen at a couple of 2 day rallys but not for a week long. If we have to bring him, he doesn't like to be left behind and everyone within earshot will hear him sing, "THEY LEFT ME, WHOO HOO HOO" in the key of Weimeraner for as long as he's alone in SunnyBeaches or tied outside. And we won't be able to see out any windows for all the nose smears he'll leave. Dean and I split up before so one of us could stay with him (yes, he's spoiled but worth it!) So, are well behaved dogs allowed in the tech seminars? I know he wouldn't be allowed in any dining/food venues, I expect that. I'll still look for a new "sitter" but I'd hate to leave him home with one if he can go to anything that doesn't involve food. If there's is anyone who doesn't like dogs, period, let me know that also as I wouldn't want to offend anyone with Fischen's presence if we do have to bring him. So give me INFO. Thanks Cherie and my FischenDog ps I hope this doesn't open a big can of worms, ya know what I mean.

We have always allowed pets at rallies. However we request that if you have a barker or whiner that will disturb your neighbors than you should tell the parking people when you come in that you need to be parked to one end because of your dog. Also, if you take them out for a walk be sure to pick up their dropings for proper disposal.
No animals are allowed in the buildings. That is not a GMCMI rule but rather a requirement that we agreed to with the fair ground management when we signed our contract. Their county health department does not allow animals in the building where people are served food. We have our meetings and seminars in the same building where we will have our breakfasts and dinners and ice cream socials.
You are going to find that most campgrounds and fairgrounds have the same policy.

Thanks Emery. I knew someone would know something. I'm hoping I don't HAVE to bring him but....... Of course I'll "pick up" after him as if I didn't someone could come up missing and I'd know just where to find them.

You can also use the term "service dog" as there are no formal requirements for that designation, but folks can't legally refuse your four legged companion.
But, most important of all, by following the rules you get welcomed back.

Ha Ha Ha, I know just what you mean, My Three Greyhounds get together and like to RHOOO Hoo Hoo when they think they need attention....
Hey, we should get them together and film them for UTUBE, Call the the Canine 4 and let them have at it.......
there won't be a squirrel for miles after that taping.
In real life, my three are very friendly and one is a "leaner". They always bring a smile on peoples faces when they come out for their walk. They usually like to show ME the route they want to take and love peoples attention. They travel everywhere with me.
I can't imagine anyone not enjoying these happy creatures....

Things are set and he'll be home with the sitter. He's never been kenneled except for the time we took him to Purdue for his knee and they had to do emergency surgery to get a ball out of his stomach. They called me about 4 hours into recovery to come get him as he started to howl and was injuring himself trying to get out of the kennel. As soon as I arrived he settled down and as drugged as he was I brought him home where he wanted to be. Too bad his other knee is now recovering from a tear as pheasant season is just around the corner and he always makes sure we have pheasant for Xmas dinner. Enuff about that. See ya'all in DuQuion and save a parking space by the dogs for us.

Give him a vacation at a doggie motel.
No one wants to hear a noisy dog.

I typically find that the 2-legged animals cause far more trouble at campgrounds than the 4-legged ones, but that's just my personal assessment.

Weimeraner, hahahahahahahahahaha! Been there done that. Doors, latches, gates, lock sets, childproof hahahaha. Actually getting the key in the deadbolt was the only thing that actually foiled him, not that he didn't try. A weim would probably hijack a tech session after eating all the ice cream and leading all the greyhounds and chihuahuas to the prevost garbage cans.

We had our two English cockers with us at Montgomery and always picked up
after them. However, there was one "thoughtful" couple that let their dog do
his thing two feet from our coach. I found it the next morning just before
tripping over it.
Obviously, I get annoyed when others don't do their part even though they
know they should.
I do assume that only adults drive GMCs but when I see something like that I
question the mental age.
