Harold,

It's a pretty straightforward install, drill some holes, run some wire....
I've installed one on an Excursion before. I didn't have much luck with
durability. I ended up getting rid of it and getting another Tracvision
system. I still need to install my spare Tracvision on the GMC, but it's
quite low on the priority list, I don't even have a monitor in there yet.

I have a Track Vision on My SOB 1999 American Eagle.

Direct Tv replaced the old receiver because it was old , actually 15 years old. LOL

The new Direct TV receiver D1100 does not have a slow speed serial port , but it has a USB port. Now the Track Vision cannot find the direct Tv 101 satellite. Nothing to hook up the 9 pin male plug.

Track Vision support says it needs a Software update to be able to use the USB port on new receiver. The antenna model # begins with 99 which it was manufactured in 1999 and therefore will not accept the software update. Something about slow speed data port is analog and USB port is digital.

The two choices is to try to go back to old receiver on purchase a new Track Vision KVH antenna. New antenna arrived yesterday.

I paid off the coach in July so ordered a new antenna , just like another monthly payment.

You can remove the dome cover and see what year your antenna was manufactured and call support to see if it obsolete. Hope it is not too old to work with new receivers. You want to make sure it works before installing.

Lawrence,

Good to hear from you! Have you been lurking all this time? Hope you have,
to see how many folks have benefited from your Pertronix mod to the Onan.
Few mods have had so many, and well satisfied, adopters.

Did you try using an RS-232-to-USB converter between the new receiver and
the old satellite? If that would work, it would expand the market for your
now-replaced antenna.

Hi Ken Henderson

I have been lurking here and each week I see how many persons have visited My Picture Trail site. Several visitors look at the Pertronix added to the Onan generator.

I have looker at the adapter RS-232 to USB converter on the Amazon site , cost about $40.00. I have the software update on laptop and cables to fit the 9 pin antenna plug to a USB port. Want to try to make the Track Vision KVH before replacing with new.

Purchased a new camera so need to add to the Picture Trail site.

I have got to get to doing things that I enjoy. Some one reminded that , don't worry about old age because it won't last long.

Two weeks ago went to Easy Riders Motorcycle Rodeo in Chillicothe , Ohio at Ross county fair ground. After being there Monday thru Sunday and seeing the vast array of motorcycles , golf carts ,ATV and anything with a motor for personal transportation plus the pole dancers.

Friend said to take golf cart to roam the fair ground rather than a motorcycle. Was going to take 2006 Harley Sportster. I knew about what to expect to see at this event so Mary stayed home , she is scheduled for knee replacement in couple weeks. I told her that it would be very noisy and dusty.

Younger brother went and we called other brother from Canton , Ohio to join us later in the week. He said He has never attended an event as this. LOL This is why I purchased a new camera.

First day the arriving campers were parked in large field awaiting entry the next morning a 10 Am. About 10 Pm a trailer with 3 women dancing buck naked on poles lit up with blue lights. This continued untill about 2 Am.

The next morning since we had purchased the Gold Rush Ticket ther e was plenty of time a room to select where to camp and have 30 amp electric and water hook up. Next day more campers arrived then we were allowed to place ribbon and stake off how big of a camp site needed , in case to save spot for friends that could arrive later at the reduced ticket rate.

We were expecting some pretty wild sight seeing and sure was surprised. Each afternoon a parade of vehicles paraded around a city block size black top circle. Vehicles of all sorts plus floats with girls dancing. Women , pehaps 35 % were topless.

I witnessed a 80 year old topless woman in thong with beads around neck. That satisifyed My curiosity.

One afternoon went to grandstand to watch motorcycle competition between riders that signed up. After 1 1/2 hours decided to go back to campground where the real entertainment was always going on.

I have attended several camping events that included informative presentations , ice cream and a brisk round of bingo but nothing like the sight at Chillicothe , Ohio.

Friday night three trailers with two pole dancers each performed for a while until replaced with a new dancer. One dancer was black and one was a midget.

The pole dancers were dressed in shoes and shoe string panties.

I am sure one of the crowd was a man dressed as a woman , not a very pretty one at all. LOL

People bring old couches and easy chairs and leave them for the prisoners to clean up the fair ground . Three prisons within 2 miles.

We did not see any fighting and made it thru Sunday morning and headed home.

Now We need to attend Church Camp for a week to even out our morals. LOL

Some from here attended a few times untill they about got run over in tent by a vehicle.

I might attend next year if I remember ?

Lawrence,

You don't need to spend $40; check eBay for "USB RS-232". While some of the
offerings are junk, most will be designed around the same commonly available
integrated circuit; at the price you can gamble.

I notice you remember exactly what time the pole dancing ended. :-)

Are you going to Du Quoin?

Hi Ken Henderson

I will look on eBay for the USB adapter.

The pole dancing was Friday and Saturday night.

I purchased 2 T shirts that were nice. Brother went to another vender and purchased a shirt . Back at motorhome He noticed a web site on his shirt looked it up on internet and is was a company that sold blow up dolls and things of that nature. Said He was not going to wear that shirt. His wife will probably order one for him out of orneyness. LOL

I would turn on the air conditioner and go to bed before 2 Am.
Everything there was loud and perhaps 30,000 people.

We were able to run both air conditioners on the 30 amps camp site pole. Frig on propane and not run coffe pot or microwave while air cond was operating.

They sprayed water on the blacktop and lots of motorcycle burn outs took place right in the parade.

I don"t know but that might have been a combined hooker convention also ?

Nobody said ?

I felt much better that the sponsor of the event was Geico Insurance Co.

Have not made plans for Du Quoin.

Hi Bob de kruyff

They danced for free . Some were pretty nice the others were a cross section of normal older women.

You figure 30,000 people 14,000 women then 35% topless. This sort of added to the main feature attractions.

The man camping beside us , lived 30 minutes from camp ground. He gave to Me 2 dozen strings of beads . I did not need to spend the beads . Gave them to Mary when I got home for a gift.

These events are in other parts of the country. Last one of the season must be in Ohio.

People there from Maryland ,Ind and a few states away attended.

Several people said Ohio was the best.

One fellow about My age had attended for last 16 years.

I thought I had discovered something new. LOL
