Unfortunately, we must cancel our trip to DuQuoin. The brake parts I ordered from Jim K have not arrived yet and tomorrow would have been my only day to install them before leaving for DuQuoin. Guess we will have to see about next year.

Yes it is, Parts will not be here until mid week for all of them. Does not leave me any time to install. We have a very involved Patriot Guard mission that will consume most of my time this coming week and the weekend is already spoken for out of town. No time but this weekend to get the coach ready and without cables and parts it ain't going to happen.

BTW, we all need to remember these men and women

Sorry for you not getting it in time.
Both UPS and Fedex take 5 days to get to the other coast.
We ship via USPS Priority when people want it sooner or ship UPS 3day
(Orange).
They cost a little more, but if your on a tight schudle, you'll need to
utilize faster service.
We generally ship the same day or the latest next day unless were out of
stock on an item and holding shipment for couple days.
If we were neglegent in getting them out to you , advise me and I will
refund all the freight.

Not pointing any fingers at all. Mary Jane and I both thought it should have been here Thursday. That would have been a week. She checked the tracking today and they show Monday for the cables and Wednesday for the levers and spreaders. It is what it is. I thought I was going to be able to get the parts in this weeknd and then get it inspected.

Lisa will be having "minor" surgery the end of the week so my time next weekend is committed as she will be in the hospital over the weekend.

Thanks for the offer but I think the blame is on UPS for taking 10 days to get it here.

Wayne,
I'll look into this further and see what really happened.
I have seen UPS error, but want to check our back yard first.

Wayne, don't give up on the convention!
Come on down and stay at a close hotel. Probably same cost as gas for the coach.

The tech sessions and seeing other coaches will really help you with yours. And the food and fellowship, putting faces with net names can't be beat.

Yes Wayne, what Don said. Getting to the convention will not only fire you up but will get to your lovely bride as well. She will be all excited to get to helping you when she returns from the convention. I promise, there are few folks that have as much fun as we do, GMCers gathered together. So, think about coming anyway. You will never regret it. And, you will see that those of us who know each other in person are never mad at one another on the net, just messing with each other. Everyone has a sense of humor.

There are always few that for one reason or another cannot be there with the
coach.
I should know as I attended about 6 conventions w/o the coach.
I am trying to establish #2 after the Texas. Wish me luck.

Wayne and Lisa,

Do give a lot of consideration to coming to Du Quoin without the coach. The experiences and trainning and ice cream are well worth it and yes with the distance you will drive the hotel stay will probably be cheaper than GMC fuel. We didn't attend a rally before we had a coach and we should have it really gives you info, trainning, and the starting of great friendships. In no way should you as new owners miss GMCMI rally it really helps the ownership experience.

I was a newbie back a few years ago and we did the Bering Springs rally w/o
the coach. It was a good week to be indoors, away from the rain, and we
learned a lot. I've dropped into a couple of others for a few hours and that
was good too.. You've got me thinking, but I have a prior commitment.

If you absolutely, positively have to get it there some day, use UPS. I have many, many horror stories of using UPS where they screwed up.

One was an overnight shipment of one of a kind machine I needed at the Disneyland hotel for an product announcement. I personally shipped it to myself in Anaheim. Then I got on a plane to meet it on the other end. They delivered it 2.5 months later back to my desk in Chicago where i shipped it from. I can give at least 10 more stories about UPS. They cater to the shipper with good pick up service. They do not give a hoot about the receiver since he normally is not the one deciding to use them or pay the bill. It is a very interesting business model that seems to work for them.

Bob,
You got me wide open.
I think it would be easier to take your suggestion on the #2.
