While on my last trip I heard a few bangs in the engine compartment then to
discover that the end of the AC Compressor (the clutch disc) had flown off.
One part
Headed down the road and the clutch disc was sitting on the lower frame. I
drove it the rest of the way to the Rally and back home. Don't need any AC
right now
But want to change the parts and better yet install a NEW Compressor..
Called Lordco today who said the engine was too old for parts.
Any one know where I should go for a replacement?

Dwayne,
There has been quite a bit of discussion lately about the AC compressor, OEM and replacements such as Sanden. Suggest a quick search of the forum archives.
If you go with OEM, most auto parts stores seem to have them.
Also I presume JimK has them and just saw that Gateway GMC has one for $259

IF there is still charge in the system and the compressor is OK the front seal is still good you can replace just the clutch. The rubber isolator that binds the 2 halfs has most likely failed,(cheap GM rubber parts junk only lasted 33 years or so) There is a set of special tools for this, one with three prongs to hold the rotation when tightening and a puller tool. Only takes a few mins to do the job.

There's an aluminum drop in replacement for your A6. Costs about $250 and bet Jim K would carry it.
