Hi All,
Before installing my new Transmission Filter ,I thought ,I would check ,the
Manual.
The Manual says ,to install one O rind in the Bore ,then install the Filter
When I removed the old Filter ,one O Ring was on the Filter and the other
one was in the Bore.
On other ,Automobile.Transmission Filters I have worked on,the O rings were
always installed on the Filter.
Is Manny saying to put both O Rings in the bore first, then drive the Filter
through the O Rings,or just butt it up, till it makes contact with the O
Rings.?
Thanks.

my experience is that if you stick the ring up the hole you won't know if the filter goes center into the ring or catches an edge and upsets it shoving half of it further up the hole. if you put it on the filter and shove it up the hole you will know it goes in right.

Paul,
I just did mine a couple weeks ago - I put the new ring on the 'filter' to the stop, then put one of the old rings on top of that, then slid it into the hole in the tranny. I stayed up there while I put the pan on. HTH,
John
