Thanks for the responses. I really did get an education. I was debating going to the easier to handle 30 amp cord. I now have only one Air conditioner but see the value of sticking with the 117/240, 50 amp set up.
Thanks to all who responded, Robert McMahan

We have given you a lot of answers that cover a lot of different needs.
If you have only one AC, you might want to go with the easier to handle and easier to store 30 AMP cord. With one Air, It should handle most any loading you can tax it with.
If later you decide to upgrade to a 2nd AC unit, You may still be able to run on that cord. CHeck your voltages and see if there is a voltage drop while the 1st AC is running then start the 2nd and see if there is a voltage drop during start up ( probably will be ) and while it is running.
Try running the Microwave for a minute or two. I think that is about 10 amps, the ac are about 12 so you will be getting close to that 30 amp supply.
A set up with the 240 volt ac cord would be ok but it is large, difficult to handle, does not like to be rolled up and will be more difficult to store. You will have all that to look forward to.
The 30 amp cord is not completely void of these problems but it is less a problem then the 50 amp cord.
Just thought I would mention that.
