Craig,

Hope you can get that going in your area.  Lanny & I host the Cent. Tx. Lunch Bunch at the Golden Corral on Loop 1604 in San Antonio the 2nd Saturday of each month, & it works out great.  There are several other Classics Lunch Bunches in Texas & Tulsa, Ok.

Golden Corral has been super to work with, great food & service in the party room, & plenty of spaces to park GMCs for those walk-abouts. Our group will celebrate 3 years in November, so we also make a weekend of it at an rv park nearby. We do a pot luck supper that Friday night, load everyone in our GMC after breakfast, head to Golden Corral for lunch @ 11:30, have anniversary cake with a GMC on it, back to the rv park for whatever, dinner somewhere, breakfast together Sunday morning, then head home. Everyone has a blast & you have quality time together. Of course, the guys are always talking GMCs & piddlin' or healping someone out with their coach. Good luck.

All,

Pre-Dream Cruise there was some discussion about having a Southeastern Michigan Lunch gathering. I'm open to suggestions for time and date changes.

Billie,
Thanks for the support and the great suggestions. It should be fun. We have the Great Lakers that does a good job of organizing rally's, but I wanted something that was a little quicker and easier to get to locally. Of course in MI, there's a few months where coaches are mostly in storage, so it might be an 8 month calendar. We can work out some calendars as we go along.

Thanks again for the support.

In late June of 2002 eight of us had just completed replacing the brake
calipers
on Charles Woods of Oklahoma City, OK. coach.( A mini brake party)
At the suggestion of Charles Woods, then a sometimes attendee of the
Tulsa Lunch Bunch suggested we have a lunch get together here in TX.
About that same time there was a group up north that was meeting at
a steak house once a month. We all though Charles's suggestion interesting
and decided to give it a try. We had our first lunch July 6, 2002 and have
been having lunch get togethers ever since. Smallest attendance was 7
and largest was 42. Men and women usually separate and discuss their
own interests. Men GMC's and the ladies I don't ask. As a group we have
helped several find and diagnose problems. Some have become close
friends expanding their interests beyond GMC's. Our group started out
as the Lewisville Lunch bunch but after about a year as the concentration
of attendees changed from Lewisville to encompass a much larger area we
changed the name to the North Texas Lunch Bunch. With GMC Classics
members seeing the enjoyment the North Texas and Tulsa Lunch bunch
were having others lunch groups have started to pop up around Texas to
the extent we now have 4 groups. North, North East, Central and South East.
All the groups except the North Texas Group have specific days of each
month that they meet. Through the lunch groups we have drawn several
new members into both the Classics club and the International. Even though
I don't personally advocate specific meeting dates I do think specific
meeting dates works best for the majority. I hope you "guys" not y'all
have a great get-together and continued success. Please post a report
about your first meeting. Get your local GMC club involved. 3 month
apart meetings are not close enough for some. Our group has
expanded to a couple mini rallies at local parks and a couple covered
dish lunches at one of our members place. These were a huge success.
