Anybody got a lead on replacement vent covers? Mine are OEM and cracked. I wondered why I had a leak. I've sealed them with clear caulk, but new ones would look better.

Corky,
If you're talking about the original covers for the fan, I used a Maxx Air
vent cover for around $30. Allowed me to keep the vent open all year long
and not worry about leaks.

I eventually upgraded to a Shur-Flo (a lot of folks use Fantastic Fans) Fan
that is actually useful.

He;s probably talking about the same thing that I need, those
mushroom-shaped covers that go over the vent pipes. Mine have pretty
much completely rotted away and I have that leak, too.

Where do those come from?

Desmond,
Lowes did carry the drain vent roof caps in the plumbing section -- they have a small mobile home area -- but our local stores discontinued the cap. Home Depot or another hardware type with a mobile home section may have them. Or since you are a counter customer -- JimK.

These are really very common. Camping trailers and RVs have been using them for years. You should be able to easily find them in about any RV parts store including Camping World. My local RV shop has them and its just a small hole in the wall.

Wow, PPL looks great, but they want $11 to ship $10 worth of parts UPS
Ground.

There's a lot of people from the San Francisco Bay Area here. Where do
you walk in to buy generic motorhome parts and supplies like this?

Hi Emery.

I said, and meant, GENERIC MOTORHOME PARTS AND SUPPLIES...

The coach knows how to drive itself to Uncle Jim's. In fact, I just
dropped over $3400 there last night.

What do you need Desmond? I use Allied Trailer in San

nice guy and knows GMC's.

Between you guys and Applied I've got GMC stuff covered, but I'm a new
RV'er and I've never had an experience where I could shop and browse
generic items like that vent cap and general motorhome accessories.
I've never heard of an RV mat before Eddie Pettit's pictures. I don't

You could try Valley RV Supply (Allied Trailer Supply), 15180 E. 14th St., San Leandro 510-276-6200

or Scotty's RV, 1998 Republic Ave., San Leandro, 925-449-4909

Those are probably the closest to you on your side of the Bay.

Desmond,

Suggest you Google rv sales and plan a visit to a large dealer. They usually have an inventory of accessories and it is amazing to walk around and see the options. RV mats, lots of sewer hookups, plumbing bits, chocks, replacement bath fixtures.
You might even consider touring some of the large SOBs for ideas and comparisons.

Enjoy.

Desmond,

When you embark on your trip to a large generic RV store, prepare yourself
for a culture shock. As you wander the aisles, you'll probably find
yourself mumbling, "Ohmygoshwhatwon'ttheseoldcodgersbuy?", and
"WhatintheworldisallthisSTUFF?" and
"Theseoldfartsmusthavemoremoneythanbrains" and "Whointheworldthoughthatup?"
and "HEY, now THERE's a GOOD idea." At least I do -- and I've been doing it
for over 50 years!
