Maybe look at this, it is for a side bath 78 royale, but some aspects may work.

What year is your Royale?

Designing macerator installations on Rear Bath coaches (Royale/Birchaven) is an interesting problem. The (small) black tank has an opening almost under the bumper. There isn't much space to install a macerator near the tank. The earlier coaches have a dump near the center under the bumper. It has a valve on each side of the dump. While better for "normal" (non-macerator) use, it limits where you can install a macerator without major changes.

My Birch (a later model, a '78) has the dump, with one valve, under the left rear. It has one other valve, for the black tank, just upstream of the "T" for the gray tank. There isn't a separate valve for the gray tank. This doesn't work that well for "normal" dumping. BUT it does allow for a macerator to be put into the 2 inch line between the "T" and the gray tank. I have a couple of 2 inch valves That I plan on installing with this project.

Here's my waste plumbing and Macerator setup....all done by my PO. I had to
replace the macerator this year, but the setup works great. The valves are back
by the tanks but have extension handles going out to the rear bumper. The main
line has a rotating fitting on it, so you can unhook the 3" line and tilt it
down. With this setup you can use the standard fitting and hose or the
macerator.

here is what i did on my rear bath. this leaves about a beer can of water left in the 3" outlet but that isn't a problem. i do have to lower the air bags to get the rear down so the tanks will flow to the outlet so the pump will pick up. with this setup i can easily use either system to dump.

Fred, where did you find the rubber "connector" between pipe and maserator? I looked for two years before finding one in Quartzsite @ an old rv place. Paid 10 bux for it.

Greg,
I found the rubber connectors at my local Lowes. I also placed a
rubber connector on each solid connector point. One on the outlet of
the black tank, gray tank, and inlet to mascerator AFTER I scraped and
broke solid piping on a trip. It protects the flanges that seem
vulnerable on the tanks. Makes pipe repairs simple should the need
arise.

have you thought about how you want to connect / disconnect your hoses??

Agri Supply sells some quick disconnect type connnections.

1/2 inch male hose shake adapter
http://www.agrisupply.com/product.asp?pn=10208&sid=&eid=

1/2 inch male adaptor threads
http://www.agrisupply.com/product.asp?pn=10217&sid=&eid=

1/2 inch type c female couple poly
http://www.agrisupply.com/product.asp?pn=10206&sid=&eid=

1/2 inch ball valve poly
http://www.agrisupply.com/product.asp?pn=10190&sid=&eid=

UNFORTUNATELY the web does not give a page of the entire inventory so you really need the catalog to see what they have as a group.
These come in 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2, and 2 inch flavours.

If you want to see any of the other sizes let me know and I will send you the catalog numbers.

Just food for thought.

Yes it is, but I took the impeller portion of the pump apart and rotated it 180* so that the pump pick-up is at the lower part of the pump....allows for more complete draining.

Always make sure the hole is at bottom. Every maserator that is mounted to the floor has the hole upside down and needs turned around.
Thanks Fred.

My Royal is a 1978 and has a skid bar and a trailer hitch both located in the location of the existing dump pipes. I will add a picture when I learn how.

Thanks, Steve Walker

LOL I should have known you had the 3 inch by 3 1/2 inch boot. Don't send me one. Maybe bring it to Du Quoin. I am not in need now but want a spare. Thanks and I appreciate your offer.
