These are what I saw this morning at Silver Strand State Beach, which has a dry-camping-only self contained campground.

and

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c347/LarryInSanDiego/SShookup2.jpg

The camp host was laughing his head off when several irritated campers were complaining why full hookups for only certain spaces weren't mentioned in the online reservation system. I love it!

I was camping in far north Yukon when my rig got very very dirty. I had a 12 volt pump and hose, pulled water out of the adjacent lake and washed the truck. The neighbors almost went out of their heads wondering where I got a hose hookup at my very primitive campsite. Was very fun, and funny to watch them look and not want to ask me directly.

I opened those photos and guess I don't see the joke.

I loved this, since about 90% of our camping is dry camping in some pretty
remote places, I need to make one of these.....GREAT IDEA.

Reminds me of when my brother in law who worked for the gas company put a gas
meter alongside his driveway at his summer cabin, suddenly all the neighbors
were calling the gas company for gas !

I'm wondering why anybody would even go through the trouble to do this, even for a joke ?! Drag out an extension cord, water hose and septic hose, just to fool people? My sensa humor is different from you guys I guess ! ! !

I was another "slow" guy that didn't get the joke at first, but now that I know it, it's brilliant.

Definitely worth the effort to make one of these! The LED light and dripping water would certainly take it over the top!

Rusty,
Just stick to Pink Flamingos, they're cuter. {:>)

Another smarta$$ who likes the idea. Wouldn't they be great for the
overnight in Wally World's parking lot? That'd really make some folks
question what was going on.

Netters;
Neighbors Doug and Rhonda are back home from The Silver Strand state park.
We showed them the photos from the GMC site.
The light real sets folks off Doug told us.
Doug used a solar yard light and his cousins has his also set up to "drip"
by hooking it up to his out side shower.
Have fun with this idea.

These have become a little family and friend 1-up competition in our camping group for the last several years.
The '51 50' (Police call for Insane Person) is mine and was made with scrap 2X2's, a 4X4 and some plumbing and electrical parts in the garage. Under the metal hood is a solar powered LED (the panel is on the back of the post and has a photo cell) that I got from a solar yard light I dismantled, so it lights the post at night.
My cousin with the '502' (police call for driving under the influence) post started it in our family. Other versions we have come up with have had bigger lights powered by the RV, cable hook ups, etc.
We have put together some that we hook the water hose to the pressure system in the RV for a typical water drip, but most camp sights don't like anything dripping from your RV, so that one gets shut down.
We have been in the middle of no-where and still get people wanting to use our dump or re-fill with water.
They can be made for less then $50.00 if you buy all new parts, if you don't get too fancy. But fancier is the fun.
