We are experiencing an interesting phenomena on Prince Edward Island. As I commented earlier the place is a real paradise in terms of people, attitudes, landscape, maintenance of the infrastructure like RV parks, scenery, etc. All the things a GMCer looking for a great trip would enjoy. The one downside is.......bugs. They must like the place too. You really have to lather up with the bug spray any time you go out to keep the misquotes and flys at bay. Sharon reacts badly to the bites which cause blister like formations on her so outside is a real mixed bag for her. I don't react nearly as much so it is less of a big deal for me.

This is interesting when you consider that PEI is about the same latitude as Portland, Oregon. We think of it as being way further north, but it is not. This time of year the climate here is hot and humid, much more like the SE than we expected. Some locals say this weather is unusual while others say it is normal for this time of year. Portland, OR, is hot and relatively dry in July and August most years, very different and better for outside activities, for us at least.

Some of the bug problem here can be traced to the frequent nightly rains that soak the under growth and provide a perfect environment for growing the flying irritants. Even so, we are really enjoying our time here.

Today I did install the new gasket under the round bath vent cap. It looks like that will eliminate that thing as a source of the mystery leak. Time will tell. Hope so. I will keep you posted.
