Welcome to the 'Cult' Lyle, and the GMC Net (the glue that binds us
together)

Try Jeff Sirum for glass. Several years ago they bought Clasco's
inventory of glass and most of it was window glass. You should probably
add your location to your signature line so we know where to direct you.
Sirum is in Florida sirum@gmcmh.com The web site is at
http://www.gmcmh.com/

I sent you a direct mail regarding the GMC Registry

Hi David,
Thanks for the note. I'm elated to be "in the cult".  I've gotten several good
emails in answer to my post already!

Actually, I used to work in the RV business (Dometic/Duo-therm years ago) and
have wanted a GMC for a very long time. The very first one I got to look over
was Hefner's "Bunny Coach" that he used for transportation from the airport in
Dallas to the Playboy club... and yes, it was black with a white bunny icon on
the sides. I was hooked. I also used to do a lot of rally work for Dometic so
whenever we were at an FMCA rally somewhere I always managed to look up the
GMC's that were there.
The coach we bought will need a complete interior redo... but that was what I
was looking for. I also have known for a long time that there was a group of
owners out there trying to keep these very unique vehicles on the road.
Fortunately, the internet has helped the cause considerably.

One of the replies I got mentioned that they were replacing the windows in their
coach???? Is it possible that the same size windows are still being made? If
so, I'd love to know about that. I still have a connection or two in Elkhart In
and might be able to just replace  what we have if the size is still out there
on someones parts list.
Take care,
Lyle

Never heard of this... anyone ever see pictures of this coach?

I wish I had thought to take a pic at the time... but this was a long time ago, probably in the very early 80's. I do recall a bit about the inside I could see from the door. It was a very unusual custom interior. It had an electric fireplace in one corner of the front living area. I'm thinking the carpet was white... but this is a bit sketchy. At the time it was at a very large RV/Chevy dealership near the airport. I remember the noise from the planes was near deafening when planes took off. I've still got a contact in the business that I worked with at the time. I'll see if he can recall the dealership name.

A GMC Heritage Cruisers member has had a Playboy coach for a number of years. The Playboy features are long gone and it looks now like any other GMC. I suspect there may have been a few GMCs used as Playboy coaches at the different Playboy Clubs around the country.

Wasn't there a 26 foot coach with an electric fireplace on the market just one or two months ago? ... I wonder...

Welcome to the net. I am about 33 miles NNW of Pawnee. I am far from an expert on these GMC's, but if you ever need a hand with something GMC, I am on the black list.

It would probably need to be on weekends though, as alas, I am not retired for a while yet.
