That is a range rover vent. You can get them online at amazon usually for $85 a set. I was planning to use them until I saw this application, and it appears that the trailing edge is not 90* to the top and bottom, so it looks "Crooked" next to that body seam...

The Escalade vent looks better.
Google "escalade fender vent". Bill, it would match up well with you're
Escalade third brake light. Just don't fall for the appliqué type. The mesh
is optional on most of the "real" vents.
I think JCWhitney carries the real thing plus the fakes. Or, try this site
and search for what you need. www.autopartswarehouse.com

Thanks guys, guess I'll have to do some looking around. I was disappointed to learn that most (all?) of the vents I see on e-Bay are plastic. Kinda didn't want plastic.

Anybody here know the source of this vent?

The pic says Land Rover....
The marine industry has a vent that is about 1" wide and from 6 to 12" long. Would be a long slim vent, I think it is black or white. I had see some in metal at one time, probably plastic today.

Copied URL directly from web site, sometimes that does not do the trick. www.westmarine.com and search for engine compartment blower. Mine is the axial design, and it used flexible ducting from Home Depot or Lowe's.
Remember to turn it off, if you have an engine fire.

Week-end after next, taking a little trip to a no-host rally in VA. Will stick a outside temperature sensor in the non-powered vent and see what the temps are. Plenty hot here, so should have some interesting readings. I'll let it read temps for the 125 mile trip. Report back on this. Might be interesting.

I've always remembered your vents and have planned to add that to the list
of modifications to be done.
I do have a question though, in the picture of the right hose, what is the
gauge? Fuel pressure?
Thanks.

What Bill Brown was asking for originally was the type of good looking and
functioning fender vent. Plane-Jane will do the job but without good looks.
Plastic appliquéd vents won't do the job by will provide some looks.
As to the functional Escalade vent -- it sure looks to me that the body
curvature is very close. Maybe not close enough. I seem to remember someone
having those vents on a GMC. Of course, Bill Bryant's look the best in my
book.
Regarding these "in fender" vents -- you would need a fan to move the air
away from the wheel which is also a source of heat. Sure, they don't show
externally but I'd want some empirical data that showed that they functioned
well.
With the smaller vents on the fender the marine blower makes great sense. It
also makes sense to put one blower, at a minimum, on the passenger side so
you don't melt yourself more in July at the gas station while standing on
the blacktop surface.
My two cents (which isn't even worth that much).
