MS Streets and Trips suggested route is I80 - I90- I87.

Any one with current local knowledge along the route have any cautions, refinements, areas to avoid, things to see, places to eat and or spend the night?

Any suggestons for alternative roads off the interstate that don't add significant milage.

Ways to avoid toll roads?

All suggestions will be appreciated.

My wife wanted to stop in Dresden, OH for the Longeberger ($$$ woven baskets)factory. You need to have a stunned look on your face and tell her, "Honey, my wallet's missing! But we can just go and look anyhow" if you think you have any chance of pulling that off successfully. Very Happy

Gene,
Put "avoid toll roads" in the program. Then, call Ken Burton. He knows all the good routes around Chicago and east. IF you have time, jump down on 20 and see the Amish area of north In.

Gene,

Just get our coach here in one piece Laughing Dido on taking the southern tier expressway through NY. Stop at Brooks BBQ in Oneonta (exit 16 on I88). They have been voted the best BBQ in the country. The ribs are great. When anywhere close I always have to stop at the Air Force museum in Dayton, OH. Plenty of room to park a coach there.

Have fun and take lots of pictures so I can see where our coach has been Cool Did you get your ticket yet? The check went out priority mail on Saturday.

Hi, Wayne!

Glad your coach finally arrived.

Who'da thunk Oneonta would have great BBQ!

I lived there during most all of WW II.
Miserably cold in the winter, for sure!

I have a non-coach trip in late August up to
western NY for my 55-year H.S. reunion. Wife
wants to visit her home town of Seneca Falls,
so maybe a visit to Oneonta might occur. I've
wanted to go back to see what the town looks
like for many years; haven't been back since
1946! I'd like to see what the three houses
in which I lived look like now!

Gene,

Nicer temps up in Lake Almanor. Sure you want to leave?

For food you should have a look at Yelp.com

Have fun.
