Bob's flew off once because he got tired of finding the key so he left
them unlocked. he met a big truck once and they blew open. Had to
repair most of the hinges.

I have to agree that the oem latches sure look clunky, but they are very functional. I've seen too many people fumbling for keys when the need to open one of the comapartments. On the other hand, I do like the invisible type but I'm not ready to refinish the hatches yet.

Many years ago I had ours chrome plated to enhance their appearance. Been
pleased with the simplicity of their function and appearance since.

I'm about half tempted to remove it all and rely on the spring hold up/downs from the coop which I installed years ago.

We have those in stainless steel and polished SS also.
