We will soon offer a new aluminum copy of the exterior refer door. It will be primed and ready for you to paint to match your coach. The initial quantity available is 25 of which some will be sent to Jim Kanomata for resale. Price will be in the $59 range + shipping with a very small profit margin.

I sold used ones for $40 until I ran out and you still had to sand, prime and paint them to match. These will be new units and exact copies to fit your coach. We will have some at Du Quion for those of you attending and you will save the mailing fee.

Also now available are reproductions of the "Fishing Cabinet" in oak wood and the inside panels next to the driver and passenger seats in fiberglass. These you can stain or paint to match your coach.

I am still hopeful of getting some carbon fiber parts as well.

Michael I was wondering if the refrigerator door would be similar to the propane door on my 78 Birchaven? I guess I need to measure.

My propane door on the birchaven was replaced (lost) with wood and a hardware vent. I would like to have the original type vent. Any ideas?

It almost looks like I could have written the above message!

I am Mike, with a 1978 Birchaven and I also lost my propane door and replaced it with wood with a hard ware vent.

I thought I posted a better picture but you can make it out in this one: <http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=34949> The biggest problem with it is that it swells up during wet weather and is hard to remove. (Keep in mind I live in the great north wet!)

The refer vent on my 1973 is a different size and will not work. The propane door is taller and not quite as wide.

A few years back, shortly after I got the GMC, I had some doors of that type
made at a local sheet metal shop. Admittedly it's a large operation, near
Robins AFB, for which they may do contract work, but they had the equipment
to press louvers into pretty thick aluminum and did precision bending.
Might be worth checking if there are such shops near you. I only paid
about $25 for a 12" x 18" door with 10-12 louvers.
