While shopping for parts to replace the exhaust, I came across this little
upgrade:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HFM-FLAME/?rtype=4

My concern is having 20' feet of tailpipe, and what the results might be
sending unburned fuel that far down the line.

Anyone have experience with these?

Pete

Pete;
You don't want to do this as you are cutting off the ignition and pumping
raw fuel down the engine cylinders walls.
Not a good thing.
Yes I know it would be fun.

they way I understand it is you dont run extra fuel through the engine, rather it gets sprayed directly into the exhaust stream and ignited by a sparkplug near the tail pipe...

what the video said is that it cuts off the engine ignition so raw fuel is pumped through the engine and the spark plug ignites it.

G'day,

This could be dangerous in the hands of irresponsible people,
thank goodness there are only responsible people that post here Wink

Now, how about some 8' side pipes and propane injectors?

That's the way we used to do it in high school. Those old stove bolts
and flat motors were great for that.

Almost ashamed to admit it. <VBG>
My 49 Merc with straight pipes did a great job, a good 10-15 feet of flame.
Downshift to second at about 45mph and let er rip. BOOOM! Sheesh, that was a long time ago.

We did this on VW bugs back in the day. We'd use a stinger exhaust on a
header, which was a cone-shaped exhaust pipe that pointed straight out the
back of the engine, like a tail on a cat. No engine cover, of course. We
could make flames 15 feet long. But we also rebuilt those engines about
every 15 minutes.
