When GMC originally built our coaches with the 16.5" steel wheels they did a sort and only used those wheels for production with the least runout and imbalance for the GMC MH. If owners needed another wheel, they would just buy another "truck" wheel since GMC did not publicize the sorting. Many of us back then were forever trying to get a rear tire imbalance fixed, rarely with complete success. Then came better shocks, better tires, balance beads & alloy wheels.

Just wondered if any of you that are using the newer steel wheels have had any imbalance problems, or is that a thing of the past.

I am using late model FRONT truck wheels. I sorted through at least 20
wheels before I found 7 that suited me. Spun them without tires on a tire
balancing machine to check for eccentricity and wobble. Have a friend that
owns a tire store.
