Well, after 42 months and over 30,000 miles my ice maker has stripped a cog. I guess that is not bad for 200 bux and 24 hours non stop use. So, now I am looking for a new one. I want one a little smaller and have found one shipped for 125.00. Anyone know of a better deal? I can get 10% veteran's discount at Lowes but that still does not touch this price.
Thanks,
Dan

What kind are you getting for $125 shipped? I'd pay a 10% veteran's bonus
for one of those.

Sounds like a great price. I grabbed mine on clearance at Meijer for $110 for a 35 lb per day unit.

Now I REALLY enjoy camping!!

If they're available on the web, can someone provide links to these ice makers?

The one I found yesterday has gone up to 139.99. I am not giving that for it. Should have got it yesterday. That is a 15.00 increase.
I found them by going to Amazon and on ebay.

I guess it is safe to say you cannot fix the cog?? Shame to let somethine that otherwise works go because cheap plastic broke.

Could you form the gear with epoxy?

Yea, yea, I am a real cheap skate sometimes, but I somehow inherited my GrandFathers will of fixing things....

Now if I could only inherit his bellowing laugh.

Nope. My icemaker is a Uline unit and I repaired it myself. Just
wondering if your's was the same, I could share info.

You're up kind of early aren't you?

Anyway, will you sell tickets for Jim's GMCWS raffle at GMCMI? If
so, I'll send you a roll for the east coast and one for the west
coast. I think Jim will be too busy to sell them and I also think
he'd lose track.

Steve--I believe mine is and seems to have stripped a cog somewhere. I haven't had a chance to take it apart but I loved that thing. Maybe you can describe what you did.

You said you have a Uline Ice maker that you repaired. Which model do you have? I have a BCM95 that is leaking water, do you happen to have an exploded parts diagram for a BCM95?

Tom, it's probably the body of the solenoid valve that
turns the water supply off and on. You should be able
to get a replacement at a refrigeration or plumbing
supply wholesaler. That's what I did for the 95 on my
boat which I didn't get fully winterized. You MAY have
to relocate the valve body on the mounting bracket.

No, mine is a portable unit that we carry in the GMC and use at home. That is why it has an odometer, gmc.
I may tear into the thing, Paul, and see if I can find the stripped gear and send it to you. Thanks. By the way, Harry and Mattie say hi.
Steve, send the tickets. I am married to a ticket selling lady. We will not be eligible to win so I think you have a good idea.

Consider it done Dan. Terry could sell tickets in a grave yard.
She's just too pretty to say no to.
Blue ones East coast, Red ones West coast.
Thanks a bunch.
