Replaced alternator belt. Spent time in Wild Horse Casino and got a late start at 10:35.
Shortly after getting on road, we climbed Cabbage Hill which is a 6% grade with a 2,300 ft change in elevation to a summit at 3,753 ft. Went up in S at 40 mph with no problems. I-84 topped out at 4193 ft. when it went over the Blue Mountains. There were numerous long 6% climbs and descents. One very long traffic diversion due to road construction.
Arrived in Boise, ID in time for dinner at the Cracker Barrel which at 450 miles is the closest one to home.
Picked up another alternator belt at O’Reily’s as a spare.
Continued on to Flying J in Twin Falls, ID.
Mileage – 353
Oil Consumption – VR-1 20-50 – 450 miles
Vapor Lock – None
Highest Temperature – 91F in Boise

Jim,
Enjoyable reading and riding along with you. Post some photos!
Major heat wave in the NE -- which I believe is your interim destination enroute to Ga.. Will be interesting to see if you have any vapor lock across the plains or in the NE..
Safe travels.

Is there a mod to the vapor canister that can reduce the propensity for vapor lock. I ran 2 hours at 110F Outside temp (maybe 150F road temp) and had no vapor lock, even though the fuel was obviously boiling in the tanks when I released the cap. (2/3 tank full)
