Steve,
I want to thank you for the excellent Tech Article that you published
in the latest GMCWS Newsletter about your experience driving Rick's
GMC with the rear brake torque reaction system installed. I think
most of the other folks that drove his coach had similar opinions. I
have concluded there is no use having any more seminars on the
subject because as you have said several times; "people just do not
understand what I have been talking about". The only way people are
going to realize how much safer and how much more pleasurable the
modification makes driving a GMC is to drive one with the system
installed and make some hard stops. Just think how many more GMCs
there would be an the roads today and how many less tire failures
there would have been over the last three decades if GM had put that
system on the original coaches. Everyone would be experiencing much
smoother rides on Grade D tires at much lower pressures.
What needs to happen is every GMC club have a raffle with the winner
getting a rear brake torque reaction system with the requirement that
they let other people drive their GMC at future rallies. Who wants
to take on that task?

Charles,
Thanks for the kind words. I have a policy of only writing what I
believe is truth with no personal ideology attached.
If someone wanted to put up a reaction arm system for a raffle prize,
I would volunteer my services to issue the tickets, and keep track of
the money. This worked well when Nancy and I conducted the raffle to
raise money to help pay Patricks expenses for this net. I believe we
raised a little over $10,000.00. It's not too late to do this and
have the drawing at GMCWS fall rally in Las Vegas. Let me see what
Jim K says about this as it just might raise enough money to include
installation.
The GMC Midwest Classics have requested, and been given permission,
to publish that article in their local newsletter.
This is my last year as Tech VP. Jim Hupy will be taking over for next year.
I am also going to push for Rick to bring his coach to Las Vegas for
more test drives.

More news Chuck.
I just finished talking to Jim K. and he's agreed to sponsor two
units, both complete with everything necessary to convert a coach to
the reaction arm setup. From MC to rear disks. One unit will be for
GMCers east of the Mississippi, one unit for the west. No one will be
allowed in both venues as the purpose of this is to get at least one
of these units on the east coast. Any remaining raffle ticket money
will go to GMCWS but that will not be publicized. The winner will
get either free installation or a Applied GMC gift certificate worth
$600.00. Jim is contacting Tom Hampton for the installation for the
Easterners. Tickets will be $10.00 each, 6 for $50.00, or 13 for
$100.00
What do you think? Nancy and I will volunteer to keep the tickets
moving and the drawings will be held at GMCWS fall rally.

Well,
First of all, all of this was supposed to be off-net. I didn't
realize Chucks post to me wasn't just to me. Sorry folks, my bad.
ANYONE will be allowed to participate in the drawing. I am even going
to buy some tickets.
Dan, we gave some thought to permitting the ticket purchaser to select
whateve barrel he or she wanted to but one of the driving factors
behind this is to ensure one of these makes it to the east coast.
Noone out there has tried one of these and this will present the
opportunity (depending on the owner).
I'm working with Billy Massey to get a paypal button on line so
credit card purchases can be made for those that don't want the hassle
of using snail mail.
I'm going to change this thread now so stand by for a new GMCWS Brake
Reaction Arm Raffle thread.

Well,
I guess we could have an underneath group. Since there are only
three of you guys, tickets will be around $4,000.00 each. Three
tickets if you buy $8,000.00 worth.
Just kidding Rob. Pick a side, any side, but only one.
