Father's Day weekend my wife said she had a surprise for me and to get the
motor home ready so we could leave early Saturday morning. We went from Red
Bluff to the Bay Area and then stopped for lunch. Before I could get out of
the coach there was a knock at the door. I opened the door and there was
our daughter all the way from London for a surprise visit. My son,
daughter-in-law and new grandson met us a little later for a barbecue that
everning with relatives. Then at 8:15 p.m. my son, daughter-in-law and new
grandson and I got in the coach and I drove to Arroyo Grande to my son's
house. Arrived around 11:25 p.m.

Got up the next day and we all went to the 25 Annual Pismo Beach Classic Car
show for a litte while before junior starting wanted to go home. WOW. What
a show.

My wife stayed in San Fransico Saturday night so she could visit with out
daughter and then drop her off at the airport Sunday. Then she came on down
to Arroyo Grande in our son's car and caught up with all of us. Then on
Tuesday my my wife and I headed back to Red Bluff. Of course I had to stop
by Applied GMC. I have to keep the coach happy. It likes me to alway stop
by and pick up a few more things on every trip. On another note, the UPS
driver has come by my house so offten in the last two years he thanked me
the other day for all my business.

I checked the speedometer as we drove into the driveway and we had traveled
a total 900 miles. Mileage was around 8.4. Fun trip. No problems. All my
hard work is starting to pay off.

Better sign off, the wife is wanting to know when are we going on our next
trip. Got to love that women!!!

Gary,

Nice report -- congratulations also on the new grandson!

Being a counter customer of JimK's must be fun. I once got to visit a supplier of vintage MG parts in Walpole, NH. They sent me off to wander through the bins and attics looking at all the used and new bits and pieces. The old building added to the pleasure -- would not have been the same if it had all been too neat and clean. It was even more fun than finding a really old hardware store to get lost in.

It is!

The first time I went was when we were shopping for a coach. He's got a
few on the lot and it was interesting to see a number of them together
to compare. You could have "GMC Academy" in his lot. Rick Flanigan was
visiting his coach and showed us what he'd done. Even my wife was ready
to let me buy a GMC after that.

Last time I went down there for some front end parts, Jim invited me to
browse the stockroom a bit. Talk about a kid in a candy shop! He's got
a lot of stuff. The website is a tough way to sell his stock because
the collection is constantly evolving as he's always picking up new
items. There's nothing like seeing it in person. That said, be sure to
wear your boots and hard hat, ...it's not exactly a K-Mart! But that's
also why it's a real experience!

...Now if I can just get Nick to get that new black tank and schedule me
in...

Gary it was great to meet you in Auburn! Thanks for helping us "break in" our coach that night, I finally repaired the screen...

I'm glad to hear the positive trip report, sounds like a great trip! Say hello to the wife for us! Happy Wife, Happy Family and a Happy Coach! Good Job! I love your coach, great job on the restoration, she looks great!

PS-If ever passing through the Bay Area and don't wanna finish the final leg to Red Bluff we have a spare room or a "full hookup" in the driveway!

Carlo,

It was nice meeting you too. Glad to hear you got the screen fixed. I
wasn't sure for a while how you were going to get in, but it all worked out
OK.

Thanks for the nice words about my restoration work.

I have enjoyed reading that things are working out for you with your your
coach. The tire pressure can really make a big difference how it handles.

Thanks for the offer for a place to stay. We'll keep that in mind.

Wanted to go work on the coach for after getting yard work done today but
its getting pretty warm out in my shop by now.
Lets see, work on coach and sweat to death or jump in pool. Pool wins!

Cheers,
