Trip from Home (Roseville, MN, suburb to both Minneapolis and St. Paul) to Reno/Carson City, Nevada and back. Total miles, 3834 (checked against Streets & Trips which was 3831, amazing), total fuel burned, not established yet but will be approximately 440 gallons for an average consumption of approximately 8.7 mpg. Haven’t done the final fill yet. Engine ran exquisitely and only a minor transmission problem do to driver error, overheating caused by pushing hard on US-50 in eastern Nevada and by climbing a relatively steep 3 mile grade at Great Basin National Park to the Baker Creek Camp Ground which resulted in some serious slippage. Just hope it did not cause some serious damage. All other problems also due to driver error and all related to house plumbing. Except for the transmission scare and plumbing problems, a very enjoyable trip (discounting it was to go to my wife’s sister’s funeral).

P.S.

Forgot, did have a suspension problem. Blew an air hose, air hose connection, or a hole in the tank. Zero air pressure with the pump running wide open (one of those big honkin' type pumps that raises the coach from zero air to full up in less than 90 seconds). Has to be somewhere in the red line. Better not be in the tank as it is brand new from your friend and mine, Jim K. Bags stayed up and we shut off the petcocks at the bag for the remainder of the trip (from Great Basin NP to home). Only had to add a little air to the port side bag once.

Also, only saw two GMCs on the whole trip. One was on the 23rd on I80, approximate milage marker 300, just west of Laramie, WY. Unit was west bound and was light brown with a dark brown(??) slash strip on the sides. We waved but no response. The other was in an apparent RV repair place near Fremont, NE. In the very brief glance I had at it, it probably needed help.

I love that road. We never miss an opportunity to travel it. We
spent an extra day in Ely just so we could ride the old mining train
that goes from Ely to Ruth. Did you happen to notice all the Harry
Reid signs in the small towns?

We prefer it also to driving I-80. Much better scenery and more fun to drive.

Nope. Too busy watching traffic, looking at antique shops, etc.
