I uploaded two photos of Rick Denny's 23 ft atop Flagpole Knob, VA. The site is up 3.5 miles of very unimproved mountain trail, and about 4400 ft above sea level.
Our Ham Radio club operates from this site during the semi-annual ARRL VHF/UHF contests in June and Sept. Quite the Ham Radio/ boys week out experience. Last year, I took mine up also.
Look under my user's name.

Dan and all other GMC Hams, We (W4IY)(Woodbridge Amateur Radio Club) operated 6 mtr, 2 mtrs, 220, and 440. Don't know final score, but 6 meters was hot.
Look for us this week-end on Field Day. We will be operating 40 mtrs phone out of my GMC.

I think we're going to need a GMC net!

I'll be in my coach, unless Jim K has it, this weekend for field day. I
usually hover near 14.292 or 7.292. I'll either be using KC6VHG (me),
W6NMC (Coast Guard Pacific Area Amateur Radio Club) or K6NCG (Treasure
Island Amateur Radio Alumni) depending on where we go.

I will also be using the GMC for Field Day this week. I'm in charge of the 20/75 sideband station, and will be operating on 20 meters where there is daylight within reach of skywave, and 75 meters at night. We'll set up on a folding table under the awning, with retreat to the interior in case of rain. I will set up a canopy in front of the awning to provide additional shade.

My station will be operating under the club call K4LRG, 5AVA. If you are working Field Day, find us--we'll be calling CQ on a frequency somewhere, and should be putting out a decent signal on 20 with a monoband yagi at 40 feet, if I can get the operators to put a little zip in their voices.

Which reminds me--I need to put new connectors on my feedline.

Up on the mountain, things are several levels more complicated. The Woodbridge club takes its VHF contesting seriously.

Rick "who loves building the station but is happy to let others do the operating" Denney
