I just removed a 12vdc power supply and cable TV box that was placed in an
opening just under the left side of the glove box door. There is an opening
there that goes into the blower box once you move an door or vent door with
your hand.

Questions..

What is supposed to be in that opening since right now all I have is a hole?

I could not get that vent door to move other than by hand. Any idea what it
does and how it is supposed to move?

The Pacific Cruisers Rally at the Antique Steam and Gas Museum was
fantastic! Lot of really old stuff and most of it runs.

Len & Pat, you are lucky to have a '78 with the best dash air. That is the re-circulate door for the ac. A vacuum door motor opens up on MAXIMUM and allows cool inside air to enter the ac to be re-chilled. It is normally closed on heat/vent/normal ac.

Len,

Sounds suspiciously like the return air hole in this mod:
