Ken,
Rest assured if Rob and I think there is anything we think you should know
about that is of interest down here we will let you know but ofcourse some
of our interests are different to yours except for our GMC. The main
difference with our GMC's we drive them from what you refer to as the
passengers side and we power the appliances with 240 volts.

Ken,
It is possible, but I can guarantee from personal experience that
after one beer, it is as you say.

Ken,
If you come for that long you had better bring your tools cause I'll have
you working for your keep and you will have to spend some time with Rob and
he has plenty to be done on his GMC that being said you have been warned.

good article. on that subject i've always wondered why vacuum changes with ignition timing.
anybody able to answer that?

I assume the statement was that vacuum at idle, or any steady speed drops when the ignition is retarded. This would be true when the timing advance is changed to something less than MBT (Minimum advance for Best Torque), which is generally the case during part throttle operation - like idle. Retarding the spark reduces the power output of the engine, so at idle with no throttle movement, the rpm will drop, reducing the flow through the engine and consequently the pressure drop across the throttle goes down (less "vacuum"). If the throttle is opened to maintain the previous speed, whether at idle or cruise, the resulting vacuum will be lower. Make sense?
