should you feel any air pulsing back into the air intake hose on a GMC V twin type air compressor?

I only had one that did that, the reed air valve was going and the pulse you feel is the air leaking past the reed valve.

The reed valve can crack and yet still work. Up side, usually you can replace the reed valve.
