Hey Scott--- "Flying Brick" a good one! I think in your situation I think I would put offset bushings only on the back position. I think the Revcons I messed with would react @ the same on specifications. The first big filter in sortingan alignment is seeing how far the caster usually on the pass. front wheel. If I could dial in each side to what I wanted, things would be much better. I can usually get 3 deg. with standard bushings but then there's that 1! We did that on Arch's coach way back

Subject: [GMCnet] Alignment Question
Greetings,
So, I have to replace most of the rubber components on the front end of my Revcon, yea, the GMC's big brother. :p I am planning of replacing the lower control arm bushings with the urethane version but I just don't know if I will need the upper bushings to have that extra offset adjustability.
I tried to do some reading on your alignment specs but it's tough to get a good idea if your specs would work on my Revcon. Yea, I know, it's very different but I'm hoping the collective knowledge here can help.
If it turns out that the increased offset bushings aren't necessary, would you recommend going all urethane?
Some Revcon specs that may help. Total weight: 7100 lbs as it sits now.
25.5' feet in total, wheelbase - 185".
Any advice you can dish out is appreciated.
Scott

Scott, my personal experience with urethane bushings on the front end has
been negative.
I put them on my '67 El Camino when I did a ground-up restoration and it
made the truck ride rough. I would not recommend urethane bushings other
than for sway bar mounts or links.

Prices,
I installed urethane bushings on a Nova SS I restored and absolutely
hated the brittle ride that resulted. There is so much weight on the
front end of a GMC, just about the only difference in ride quality you
can feel is with the zero deflection when you stop, go, or turn. The
urethane bushings are the last word when getting the slop out of your
steering. By last word, I am saying that after you replace everything
else, it is the coup de grasssy for that last little bit of slop and
wander. The are not a bandaid for other problems.

Thanks Folks,
I appreciate the help.
Jim, if I order the offset bushings, it comes with both uppers, do I have to buy 2 sets of bushings or is there a way to get one offset bushing (per side) and one regular bushing for the upper front?
I also spoke to Steve Ferguson about the urethane bushings, I have a concern that my lower control arms, and uppers for that matter, could be different then the GMCs. I took a look under the coach and can't see much of a difference but it's pretty hard to tell. Anyone know what I should be looking for?
Since I have no choice but to replace the control arm bushings, I thought I'd go with the urethane as I do have more slop than I would like. I will also be replacing some other things as well. Idler arm, sway links and bushings as well as new bilsteins.

Scott,
I'm not trying to be a smart ass and would like to help you as demonstrated
by the fact that I posted the GMC alignment specs for you.
However, you're asking a group of people that own GMC motorhomes to tell you
if the control arms in your Revcon are different from the GMC.
I for one have never seen a Revcon "in the flesh." Let alone crawled under
it to examine the control arms to see if they're different from the ones on
my GMC.
If I were you I'd do a search on the GMC Photo site for "front suspension"
or "control arms;" print the pictures out and then take a front wheel off
your Revcon and compare them.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/
In fact if you remove one of your wheels, take some pictures of your control
arms and post them to the GMC Photo Site I'd be happy to look at them and
give you my opinion if they're the same or not.
Even then how would you know if the bushings are the same.
