Which electric water pump has given the best service?

Sureflo is probably the most common pump, but I have always liked the Flojet pumps, they are somewhat less expensive, and quieter in my opinion. They generally have higher pressure and I like the quick connect fittings that are standard with them. I have had several in different RV's and like them a lot.

Both come in standard cycling versions, as well as electronic speed control systems. I have not had an electronic one personally, but a friend with one says it is OK, but not much better than the standard ones, and a lot more expensive. He says he would not do it again.

Sureflo has just come out with a new generation of pumps. Higher pressure and so on. Time will tell if they are any better than the old ones.

I have a shurflo 5.7 extreme series pump. Just like home pressure and very quiet. Search for them on ebay, I got mine for around 190 shipped!

Randy,
The most popular pump that many have used was the Shurflo 2088 pump.
This is the pump that I have in our coach and I have installed in a
number of other coaches.

http://rvpartsoutlet.com/product_info.php?cPath=842_161&products_id=5973

Although it is still available it has now been superseded by the
Shurflo 4008 pump.

http://rvpartsoutlet.com/product_info.php?cPath=842_161&products_id=11881

Both pumps can be had for under $70 and the performance of the 4008
has been enhanced over the 2088 with better flow and pressure and
reduced noise.

The Shurflo Smart Sensor 5.7 is a very good pump but at 2 1/2 times
the cost of a 4008 I personally could not justify the additional cost
vs performance of the newer 4088 pump.

true the 5.7 costs more, but I can wash the dishes and the GF can shower and I don't get bitched at for making the water cold so thats worth the extra $$$ IMHO Smile come to think about that, the 5.7 in my rig is better then at home since the minute you open another fixture you freeze who ever is showering.... hehehe

Randy, I have a flojet. You can see it in my coach this weekend if you like. It flows nicely.

You MAY have to install a larger circuit breaker
or fuse to handle the additional draw. I put one
in my boat and it will open the breaker if more
than one faucet is turned on full bore. Just have
to be careful until I can get a higher capacity
breaker to handle the added current draw. have
another that was intended for my travel trailer.

Very nice; no on/off cycling at all. Pump simply
satisfies the demand up to its limit.

I think I have an internal short in my present pump, but that 4008 sounds like it's what I need.
