Had a puddle under the coach last weekend. After two showers, dish
washing, and a couple of toilet flushes we noticed some water on the
ground. No particles but just a little bit of an odor, not much.

We're trying to nail down whether it is a crack in the tank or just a
loose fitting somewhere. It only seems to happen with he throw a lot of
water down it at once. We need to fix the level sending unit, but we
start empty and had only been through a third of the fresh water.

The diagrams in the manual aren't as detailed as I'd like. Does anyone
have better pics or diagrams of the fittings from the shower and toilet
to the tank? The manual and some web sites had good pics of the sink
pipe. I'd also like to see what the top of the tank looks like if
someone has a picture of one out of a coach. I've never done this kind
of work before and I'd like to get a look at what I'm up against.

Other than that, we had a nice overnight at Westside Park in Bodega Bay
last weekend. Look soon for us to come up with something creative for a
baby's bed. Somehow, the two of us, plus the baby and the dog don't fit
in the bedroom as well as we did last time.

Also, here's a second vote on "The stock furnace MUST have good voltage
on the battery or it will not start."

Thanks again!

Mine starts dripping at half full. Probably a seam or gasket. I plan accordingly.

The dump valve and the sending unit are the obvious leak areas -- but sometimes there are cracks where the tank holding straps contact the bottom ot the tank. From the top of the tank it could be cracks at the inlets.
Here is a photo of the top of the tank from my 73, 23ft. The kitchen and shower drains are the smaller. On a 26 ft side, wet bath the kitchen drain inlet is on the other sde of the aisle.

After having a crack in the top of the tank repaired here is what I am doing to correct for broken inlet pipes.

There are a few other photos in the album.

Give Duane Simmons a call. He will fix you up with a new tank and at a real reasonable price. Jim K. probably has them too, he is even closer to you. You probably should also make up some new hold brackets while you are at it since the old ones usually are bent and corroded.

Steve,

The plastic welder who repaired the balck tank in my early 73 said it was polyethylene. I had read in the owner's manual that it was polypropylene and had advised him of such when I dropped it off for repairs --
