For all you who say you are "electrically challenged" I found this helpful way of determining if it is an electrical problem you are facing.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

I though it was clear and simple and straightforward thinking.
