Nuts!! I forgot to write it down.

What tire did several people think was equal to or better than a
Michelin XLT for wet grass traction?

Most M&S tread designs will provide better traction than a rib tread design. M&S on front, rib on rear.
Just what I do.

At the last Western Stater rally, those with the Limited Slip
Differential did well.

G'day,

I have tried Michelin, B.F.Goodrich and Khumo, they all had a problem with wet grass.
It can look a bit embarrassing when you are on open level ground with no traction. If "tapping" the brake didn't work we have had to get the towed on the A- frame to give us a push to get us moving again.

Ron,

Here's what Ken Burton sent in awhile back about the Kuhmo Road Venture KL78
tire:

Quote:

I bought the more aggressive tread Kuhmo's from Tire Rack. The were $91.00
each picked up in South Bend.

I was parked in a grass field up in Manitoba last month. It rained for two
days solid. I had no traction problems getting out of there even though I
was leaving 2 to 3 inch ruts as I drove out of there in the grass and mud.

Good tires.

I used 4 oz bags of Equal to balance them.

They are AT threads and are not noisy. Be careful they offer these tires in
load range D as well as E.

One trick for additional traction is to reduce your tire pressure. In other words let some air out! This will flatten out the bottom of the tire and provide additional traction in wet or sand.

You can try the tires I have on my coach. they are not really round, so they *may* get better wet traction!!! Very Happy

Kumho KL78's
Rob and I both have them.
They are around $100 each these days. Plus mounting, balancing, and tax.

Carry a set of traction mats (see link). Got mine at yard sales, have rescued a number of GMC friends with these.
