I have been looking for new tires for my PalmBeach. After reading through many of the old posts about tires I come across the new Road Venture KL61. It appears to be a cross/hybrid between the KL78 & KL51.Thinking this may be "just the right tire" for the bus.Has anyone had any experience with these yet?

Me too!

I looked at the KL 61 and the tread is less aggressive; it appears to be
between an HT and an AT. Personally I wanted the more aggressive AT tread. I
haven't had any noise issues and my hearing is good.

"Do you have 16" wheels or 16 1/2"?"

Rick, I have the 16" Alcoa's.

Just trying to get all the info I can before I decide on which tires to get.I'm leaning towards the Kl61's as I don't plan to take it off road all that much. I do however want a tire with better off road traction than the Kl51 would give for the times when I do/need to.

The first time you park on wet grass you will be glad you bought the KL78s.

Yea, that thought is still floating around in my head (been there, done that). That's why I was trying to find out if anyone has had any experience with the KL61's yet. Being so new though,I doubt that anyone has yet. May just save the few extra bucks and go with the kl78's since they seem to have been proven out already.

Paul,

I know Ken and I sound like salesmen for the KL78's but from where I sit the
only down side to a more aggressive tread is noise and I can honestly say I
haven't noticed any.

I will be flying back to the USA on June 18th to get Double Trouble ready
for our tour this year. If you can wait until say around the 22nd to buy the
tires I will ask John Sharpe to go for a ride with me and ask him to compare
the noise levels between Double Trouble and his Royale which I believe has
highway tread tires.

BTW be careful when you order the KL78's they make them in a number of
different load ranges! One GMCer inadvertently order some for a car and had
to return them.
