Hi all,

This past weekend I installed headers and the SS single muffler exhaust system I got from JimK. I knew ahead of time that I needed to replace the dipstick tube that goes into the engine so I had order one (from JimK as well) sometime ago. Check out the procedure I used to remove this tube.

As soon as I finish up the exhaust install, (I still have a few clamps to install and tighten everything up), I will post some pics of that as well.

Jon

Nice job! I found that the dipstick tube replacement was the hardest part of doing my header install. Mine did not come out or go in easily at all!

JimK was very helpful in providing instructions and encouragement however, and it did get done with a minimum of cussing! I'm glad to hear that not all the dipstick tubes are as stubborn as mine was.

Use a compression fitting on the stub and the piece broken off and mark the
dipstick for oil level with a file.....can't be sure if it was full or
not...change the oil and replace with the amount stated for your engine
Just what I did...being more lazy than most...
