I asked Chuck Boyd to look at one up that way right after Bean Station. This could be the one. Silver with an emblem on the side. The owner is losing his eyesight and can no longer drive.

If so I have more pictures and he has more information. Not postive we are talking about the same one.I thought the one Chuck looked at had a wet bath.

If it is not the same coach, I'd be interested in seeing it or asking someone to have a look.

Thanks

No, that's a rare coach.

I know someone else that made the seller an offer. It's still sitting in
Townsend.

Nice configuration. Rough shape. In my opinion it's a project coach and I
made my offer with that understanding.

Stick,
I only spent a couple of minutes primarily to get the TZE for Dave but
thought of you when I saw the twin beds. Not sure of the wet or dry
bath but most driver side baths are dry and I didn't open any doors as
the owner wasn't around. A phone call would answer most of your
questions I would think. Byron calls it "rough" but he sets the bar
quite high :-). I think it is a driver as is, but it has seen its
better years and will be ready soon for another facelift. I think it
has alcoas and an awning.

Interesting viewpoint. It helps to have a few.

I do tend the set the bar high. I never did like riding into town with a
limping horse or my spurs rusty. I handled funerals the same way.

No alloys on that coach from what I can tell. Those shiny coverings can fool
you. Of course, they could be the 16.5 aluminums from bygone years.

The captains chairs are original. I find them too uncomfortable for the
arthritis in my back. That would be the first thing I changed. Those
original shades are rather dated, too. The original steering wheel looks it
good shape, however.

From what I remember the Electrolevel is non-functional. It could be that
the ride height needs to be adjusted. Chuck Boyd says it pulls to the right
unless you're on the left side of a well-crowned road. Chuck also says the
awning is "new". I'm not sure at to how new. Most people selling their GMC
will say "new" for "replaced" and never mention the date or mileage. Not
sure of the hours on the Onan nor it's condition. For my taste, the dash is
a good candidate for an upgrade. It's in sad shape.

It is drivable -- so was mine when I limped into Louisville from Charleston
wearing gas mask and ear plugs. The owner said it would get quiet. It did
after replacing the exhaust gasket and putting in a bolt that was missing.
Now our coach is the quietest it has ever been. It's amazing what another
exhaust gasket, replaced body pads, muffler and alloy wheels will do.

This is the coach I checked out for Stick. It has 16.5 wheels, 4 chrome steel (some rust) on rears and 2 stainless simulators on the front. The owner stated he did not winterize it and the toilet flooded the floor when he hooked it up to water or turned the pump on. It did smell a little musty and showed a couple of signs of external water leaks, windows probably. The coach did drive, ride, and stop good. It pulled to the right, but the ride height was off kilter and owner stated he used the valves to level as he drove and it did not pull when level? The front end had fairly new bushings. Front shocks were mismatched. It is a dry bath. The dash needed work, ac blowed cool. 1" or less fogging on windshields. Wipers did self activate once on test drive. Onan started within 10 seconds and ran smooth, roof air worked. Dipstick tube was broke behind exhaust manifold and was difficult to check oil. 403 engine started easy and ran smooth, tranny shifted smooth. CV boots were dry.

All in the coach could be a good user with a little TLC. If anyone is seriously interested I have 90 pics and a detailed report.
