Went out this evening to move the coach and it would not start. Hmmm, just parked her after a 190 mile trip to Okeechobee and back last night. Determined real quick that I had fuel but no spark.
Changed the Cap/Coil still nada, changed the Rotor, nope, changed the module and whoopie. Need to go get another one to keep as my new spare tomorrow.
This site is great, lots of good advice and troubleshooting if one cares to read a little.
Thanks again GMCnet

I think it has been suggested her that you take out the module that you put in, and put in the newly purchased one. Then keep the one that you know works as a spare. JWITIK

Good idea to test the new one. I bought one from the GM dealer and when I tried to start the engine it backfired and raised cain. I replaced the old module and it worked good. I took the new one back for a refund.

Gene,

I have two Kent-Moore Module Testers.(belt & suspenders) The new
(Singapore) modules all show bad on the testers.
The old (Mexico) modules test fine. Service people in the
dealership look blank and act dumb. GM Tech Service is a
guy with an Indian accent who is lost. Trial and error is the
only test now-a-days.

Larry I am not sure, I have not pulled any of the plugs. The Engine has less than 4000 miles on it. Am I missing something?

Richard,
Perhaps Larry is thinking that if your spark plug gap is too wide it may have contributed to the module failure.

Past thread ...

Just spoke with Jeff Sirum and his Modules are made here in the USA.
Besides Heat and Plug gap, what else could have contributed to this failure? The failed module was made in HK.
It sure happened quickly, glad I was in the yard and not on the road.
