I have 5 new red and 4 new yellow clearance lights for sale at $50 for all
nine which includes the shipping to a continental US address. These were
purchased from Golby in 1998; still in the original packages, includes a
new metal bottom, gasket, and a single wire. These are NOT LED's, but a
replacement for the original clearance lights (I do not know where the 5th
yellow is). Also for sale for $2500 is a gutted 28 foot stretch, formerly
a 1977 Palm Beach, with the new style windows, runs well, no rust, includes
wet bath and partial kitchen, front seats, top half and roof painted, new
Carrier A/C on top. These are owned by my deceased friend Cecil Miller and
I am offering them to the GMCnet. Please email me privately if interested
or you have any questions.

Gerald,
Rob Mueller would like to have the stretched coach and that would get him
away from one Avion except that he probably will not have time to finish it
off only being in USA part of each year.
I am sure he will read this and let us know his thoughts. He can not bring
it to Australia because it will have too much rear overhang unless the
chassis has been lengthened in front of the bogies.

Peter,

I missed out buying a Buskirk Stretch when I first was looking. It was 29
feet and the stretch was in between the front and rear wheels. It met the
Australian rule of an overhang no more than 60% of the wheel base. It was a
bargain at $35K but I didn't know enough about GMC's at the time. When I
finally figured out what it was and how desirable it was I called the seller
and told him I'd send him a deposit. He noted that the new owner had just
driven it down the driveway!

He who hesitates is lost!

Rob Mueller

I too got the lights from Jim at Applied GMC. Nice rubber base, and look good. Used SS screws, and the red heat shrink butt connectors. Carefully used a single edge razor blade to get all the clear caulk off the body. Didn't nick the paint at all. Bob Dunahugh

I am in the middle of redoing the roof, sanding, waterproofing, painting, installing 4 PV panels, a new fan-tastic vent etc and fixing the 40 year old rear clearance lights. LEDs would be best but the old ones are bought and paid for. Cant bring myself to toss them and spend nearly $100 (Canadian) on new ones. I did the amber front ones with LEDs about 2 years ago curtesy of John Heslinger. I’ve cut new gaskets and now am ready to reinstall. Is there a LED bulb that will fit the old standard bulb socket?

With these you should be able to do the clearance lights, all the interior
& the backup lights too:

I wouldn't think the foam gasket that came with the lights would need protection from the elements. As you're installing the lights in an application, and environment that the manufacturer intended the light assemblies to be used in. I found that a single edge razor blade used carefully. Cleaned any unwanted material off the paint really great. I installed the LED lights from Applied GMC. Sealed great with no sealants.

I don't have a stretch; the coach I have for sale is 26' and belongs to
Alan Martin, past president of the Dixielanders; this coach is a 78 Royale
rear bath and it sits in my garage in Winston Salem, NC. Anyone looking
for a very nice, clean coach with new tires (0 miles), new fridge, new
PD9280 charger with a combiner, and many other updates should get in
contact with me.
