Just think; We could've had one of these in our coaches. I wonder what our mileage would be then? lol

So what trans bolt pattern does this beast have????? Not sure how practical or where you would put the radiator but it would probably match bragging rights with twin turbo caddys.

No real idea, but from the video it appears to be a Chevy pattern. Another name for the engine was "Twin Six". GMC made a 345 V-6 back in the early '60s (My father had a 1963 1-ton truck that had one). It had incredible torque at low RPMs. I recognise the valve covers on the 701. It had a 1-barrel carburetor that my dad replaced with a 2-barrel Holley. The spark plugs were in the intake side of the heads. The engine was based on the 409 V-8 built around the same period. If my memory serves, 409 pistons were a direct fit. When he sold the truck, the body was falling apart, the trans & rear end were loose & the front end was shot, but the engine used no oil to speak of (less than a quart between oil changes) and would always start up quickly hot or cold. He worked the truck to death, but the engine seemed to thrive on it. If the Twin-Six was half the motor that the 345 V-6 was, it was a fantastic motor.
Here's a video of a GMC 7000 series truck that the 701 was normally found in;  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjw3W0Ml9yA
