Gary Worobec has some great photos posted of his fuel system components.
While I think I might have conquered double flare hard lines, I want to
replace the hard line with something I know I can install and replace in the
field, so I am going with SS braid covered hose. I have found the part
number for the Quadrajet 1" inlet to AN-6, it is the Aeroquip [image:
Aeroquip FCM2107 / FBM2107 - Fits Hose Size
-06]<https://www.aeroquip.cc/fcm2107fbm2107-fitshosesize-06.aspx>
FCM2107
/ FBM2107 - Fits Hose Size
-06<https://www.aeroquip.cc/fcm2107fbm2107-fitshosesize-06.aspx>
There is also a 7/8" version for older carbs.
The washer is: FBM3517 / FCM3517 - Fits Dash Size -12 (5 per package)
BTW, Eaton seems to have pretty good prices on these.
https://www.aeroquip.cc
I plan to add a filter ahead of the carb, but not where the stock filter
housing is located. Does anyone have a recommendation for a filter with AN-6
ports?*
*
I have not found the part numbers for the AN-6 Female to Male 90° elbow.
Does anyone have this?
Thanks,
Ken

G'day,
AN fittings have a 37° flare, fittings you buy at the local hardware store
have 45° flares.

Ken,
Racor (Parker Hannifin) makes filters with 1/4" pipe inlet and outlets that
you can screw AN-6 to 1/4" pipe into.
Jim K sells a solid line that goes from the fuel pump to the carb:
http://www.appliedgmc.com/prod.itml/icOid/918
and an insulated flex line:
http://www.appliedgmc.com/prod.itml/icOid/853
Ken Frey installed a fuel filter between the hard fuel line that sits on top
of the front crossmember and the inlet of the mechanical fuel pump in Double
Trouble.
I was wondering why you went through the hassle of doing double flares on
fuel line tubing that runs at low pressure?

Ken you can use JIC 37 degree flare fittings in place of the more expensive AN spec. I used steel JIC fittings for fuel stuff. Got it here
http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/SAE_37_Flare_JIC_Hydraulic_Tube_Fittings_s/24.htm
and here
https://www.surpluscenter.com/hydraulic.asp?catname=hydraulic
I figured the weight savings using aluminium fittings wasn't worth it.

The best part about JIC or AN is they are reusable. They seal just as good the second time as the first.
double flares are not reusable. They are a 1 time use. Tho I know people reuse them all the time!

Guys, go make friends with the counter-person at your local hydraulic supply house. Raleigh has at least 10. I bought 40' of hydraulic steel tubing and at least 30 aeroquip brand fittings, some the sexy blue and red and even the carb adapter for slightly over $100 locally here in Florida. They had everything in stock and he even saved me a few fittings just by knowing what I was engineering.

Keith,
This is the first time I ever heard this.
I was a Mechanical Accessories Technician in the USAF and we reused 37°
double flared aluminum tubing in the oxygen and pneumatic systems on
aircraft.
After I got out of the USAF I went to work for Hamilton Standard and built
ground support equipment for Project Apollo when I was a tech at the Johnson
Space Center and re-used 37° degree double flared tubing there too.

Sorry I should have been clearer.
I should have said the standard 45' ISO flares are not reusable.
37' flares single or double are reusable.

Damn Pete,
That is good and thanks for the information. I have spent small
fortunes on A/N fittings in the past.
I love it when I learn something. Gonna be a good day!

Okay, so I've been absent from the list for several weeks. To accommodate the "secure" network at the office (and the fact that I cannot install software on this machine), I've had to completely revise the way I do email, and now my only realistic option for GMCnet is the forum.
And I've just been so busy. Worth it, though--I'm greatly enjoying the new role.
I used a billet aluminum AN-6 fuel filter housing with a sintered bronze filter, bought from Summit Racing (or maybe it was Jegs). It was a house brand and not expensive.
And the reason I used aircraft hose from the hardline to the carb (I no longer have a mechanical pump) is that I wanted something with at least a 300-degree rating and with a steel braid to protect the line. The fuel filter will not blow out like the regulator mentioned previously--it's a solid aluminum shell.
I used the same fitting on the carb mentioned in the first post. The hose going into that fitting has a right-angle connector, which avoided any interference with the thermostat housing.
My fuel system is now NHRA-approved, heh.
